Sales Support - Technical

This position reports to the sales manager and requires an open-minded person with some technical (mechanical or electronics) experience, flexibility and a good attitude. Training for the position will be provided. These are typical daily functions.


Sales reports

Provide a summary report of sales bookings and quotes for weekly and monthly sales meetings. Maintain and update the monthly sales forecast and keep the quarterly and annual sales history files updated.


Concepts & Estimating

Work with the design engineers and draftsmen to develop workable concepts for customers. These include layout drawings and sketches. Develop formal proposals for equipment, systems, and parts to end users, OEM’s and resellers from pre-approved templates and from technical data provided.


Technical Support

Attend and participate in job turnover meetings with the project managers and designers. Attend and participate in weekly sales meetings. Support the technical training programs for reps and employees, as needed.


Order Entry

Enter all orders for systems, parts, and field service, as needed. Assign job numbers and create a duplicate file folder for sales, accounting, field service, and engineering departments, as needed.


Commission Statements

Generate a rep commission statement for applicable jobs after the order is entered. Record and send the statement to the appropriate manufacturer’s rep firm. Maintain records of statements filed.


Travel Arrangements

Develop a travel agenda and make the necessary travel arrangements for the executives and the sales manager.


Communications & Miscellaneous

Communicate with customers and provide videos, brochures, quotes, and other information, as needed. Communicate with field reps and provide sales tools. Maintain customer data base and mailing lists. Be available as back-up to answer the phones and dispatch calls accordingly. Maintain updated files and provide additional minor duties as requested.
