Regional Sales Manager

The Regional Sales Manager works hand-in-hand with RKI’s inside sales staff. RKI’s Regional Sales Manager travels to the places of business of our current customers, and of potential new customers, and promotes the sale of the company’s products and services through personal contact and through demonstrations of the many benefits of our commercial grade quality products and by providing training and support for their sales staff. The Regional Sales Manager’s travel schedules are developed in concert with the Sales Management and the needs of our customers. A typical travel schedule would be in a company owned demonstration truck. The Regional Sales Manager is required to complete timely and accurate sales call reports about their contacts, submit detailed and well documented expense reports, representing the finest commercial grade truck equipment available in the market as well as a lot of extremely conscientious, proud and dedicated employees back at our facilities in Houston. You are expected to be courteous, professional and to represent our products and people with absolute integrity at all times. Previous sales experience in truck equipment is required. The successful candidate will work from home in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.

Sales Representative (For Houston, Galveston, Conroe and the surrounding areas)

The Sales Representative works hand-in-hand with RKI’s inside sales staff. RKI’s Sales Representative travels to the places of business of our current customers, and of potential new customers, and promotes the sale of the company’s products and services through personal contact and through demonstrations of the many benefits of our commercial grade quality products and by providing current sales literature and training and support for their sales staff. The Sales Representative’s travel schedules are developed in concert with the Sales Management and the needs of our customers. A typical travel schedule would be in a company owned demonstration truck. The Sales Representative is required to complete timely and accurate sales call reports about their contacts, submit detailed and well documented expense reports, representing the finest commercial grade truck equipment available in the market as well as a lot of extremely conscientious, proud and dedicated employees back at our facilities in Houston. Software Developer

The Software Developer is responsible for creating reliable, secure, and trustworthy software, working with their supervisor and software users to determine requirements for changes, and then applying these changes to existing software, testing all system changes, and documenting all changes made. This individual is highly skilled at recognizing logical inconsistencies in processes and at devising effective resolutions, and strives to make the software users life as easy as possible. Familiarity with AP, AR, payroll, sales and manufacturing, and experience with COBOL, Progress and Python Languages, and unix-like operating systems are preferred. Candidates must have four or more year's experience in software development.

SolidWorks Mechanical Designer The Mechanical Designer at RKI is a design and drafting position that requires a thorough understanding of mechanical drawing. The solid works mechanical designer must be able to complete part and assembly level models and drawings to current ANSI standards with a minimum amount of supervision in a timely and accurate fashion per customer and company specifications. Candidates must have an associate degree in Mechanical Engineering, or at least two years work experience in this field, strong communication, design intent and SolidWorks skills, and a basic understanding of sheet metal and welded fabrication processes. Familiarity with ePDM and DriveWorks is preferred.

Fabrication Machinery Operator

The Fabrication Machinery Operator is responsible for the setup and operation of sheet metal cutting, punching and forming equipment, and may work alone or with a production assistant. The ideal candidate has two or more years of experience and is qualified to safely operate sheet metal cut-to-length lines, shears, hydraulic stamping and punch presses, iron workers, band saws, forklifts, spot welders, plasma cutters and brake presses with mechanical stops and CNC controls. The position requires the ability to complete simple calculations and understand basic engineering parts and assembly drawings, work up to 10 hours on your feet and safely perform heavy lifting.

Welder/Fitter

The Welder/Fitter is responsible for safely fitting, welding, and finish grinding various top-of-the-line quality truck equipment sheet steel or aluminum products. The Welder/Fitter must produce high quality, consistent and cosmetically appealing welds on the products they assemble. Welder/Fitter positions may be paid an hourly rate or, in some departments, by the number of pieces they produce per shift. Candidates must be able to use a handheld finish grinder/sander, read and comprehend basic engineering drawings and assembly instructions and perform simple mathematical calculations. A minimum of six months verifiable work history as a Mig welder is required. Please note that some of these positions require heavy lifting and working up to 10 hours on your feet.

Maintenance Mechanic

The Maintenance Mechanic must be dedicated to the timely repair and preventative maintenance of all the plant equipment and facilities including everything from clogged drains and spent light bulbs to malfunctioning brake presses and forklifts. The Mechanic must be committed to the principle of "fixing it right the first time." Similarly, the Mechanic must keep in mind at all times, the primary purpose of the position is to maintain the highest level of productivity in the plant at least in regards to the functioning of its facilities and equipment.

Qualifications:

  • At least one year of service in mechanical/automotive repair, or industrial machine repair such as brake press punch, shear, welder repair, or installing indoor maintaining electrical service in an industrial plant or machinery application.
  • Ability to work well with ones hands, ability to read and understand simple equipment repair manuals, and schematics and the ability and desire to take direction from the supervisor to maximize equipment and facility operation.
  • Ability to lift 100 pounds and to climb ladders and stairs.

Mechanical Engineer

As a member of the Engineering team, the Mechanical Engineer works with the Design, Manufacturing and Sales teams to design, develop, test, and introduce new products at RKI. Additional responsibilities include day-to-day engineering related support for Production, Sales, and other departments. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated problem-solver, experienced in product development, able to manage several projects at the same time and able to prioritize their tasks. They must be familiar with FEA tools, ePDM, Project Management, and manufacturing processes, and be able to travel a few times a year for customer support, conferences, and attendance at industry shows. Candidates must have a 4-yr Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, a minimum of two years experience in a relevant engineering field, and two years experience with SolidWorks CAD software.

Production Assistant

The Production Assistant will work individually or as part of a small team to safely complete production tasks that may include working with a press operator to produce sheet metal parts, putting together small mechanical assemblies, hanging or removing parts and products from an overhead paintline conveyor, sanding or preparing assemblies for final prime paint touch-up and finishing assembly or packaging of products. This entry-level position requires mechanical aptitude and the willingness to learn physical skills, as well as some heavy lifting and the ability to work on your feet for extended periods.
