Commercial Service and Installation Technician

Intek is currently recruiting for experienced Commercial Technicians. Applicants must have 5 years or more experience in Telecommunications Service and Installation, (specifically the cable field). Successful applicants will be required to connect, disconnect and relocate cable outlets, inspect, test and repair cable signals and associated equipment, including phone lines, internet/modems and POS Systems, maintain and repair aerial and underground transmission systems, repair or replace faulty cables, power suppliers and amplifiers. Applicants must also have a minimum of 2 years? experience completing home phone and a great knowledge of NSL. This is as much as a technician position as it is a customer service position. Intek is looking for applicants that have exceptional customer service skills and communications skills. The position is paid by piecework, therefore successful applicants will need to be self-starters. Intek will be requesting current or prior metrics information, including Repeat, CMP and QA numbers. The work is physically demanding. Our technicians climb ladders, run cable, and use hand tools and other equipment to complete their duties. Intek Technicians are provided with company vehicles, cell phones, laptops, equipment and tools. Applicants require a Valid driver's license, Good drivers abstract, and Auto insurance. Applicants must be bondable Previous commercial experience is an asset.

Job Duties

Intek Communications Inc is looking to fill the position of Warehouse Assistant (part time) who, under the direction of the Warehouse Manager, will primarily be responsible to inspect and verify shipped goods for both incoming and outgoing items prior to signing off; reject damaged goods. This position will provide feedback to management regarding customer problems, mechanical problems, or delivery problems. This role will also resolve any cases of missing documentation, shipments, or deliveries.

  • Compile, verify, record, and process documentation
  • Receive and process warehouse stock products
  • Report any discrepancies in inventory to management
  • Operate lifting devices such as forklifts
  • Manually load and unload materials from pallets, skids, platforms, cars, and lifting devices
  • Assist with the cleaning and shuttling of vehichles
  • Tag, mark, or label stock items and ensure they are placed in correct storage location

 

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Warehousing experience considered an asset
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to prioritize and manage conflicting demands
  • Ability to work individually as well as part of a team
  • Demonstrated knowledge of driving rules and regulations
  • Demonstrated time management skills
  • High flexibility with strong interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse environment
  • High level of integrity and work ethic

 

 Work Conditions

  • Flexible hours including some night and weekend work
  • Operation and use of necessary tools, machinery, or equipment
  • Extended periods of standing, and other physically demanding conditions
  • Lifting, moving, or manipulating objects up to 50lbs
